1. Skinny Sesame Orange Chicken

This classic Asian dish gets a healthy makeover. All of the sweet orange chili glazed goodness with just a fraction of the calories. Ready in less than 30 minutes.

Let’s face it, places like Panda Express have people lining up for Orange Chicken for a reason. Crispy chicken bites smothered in a sweet tangy orange sauce, with a subtle (or not so subtle) chili kick is really very tempting. This lightened up version substitutes sautéed chicken for the traditional fried chicken, and keeps all the sweet tangy orange goodness. You’re family and friends will be lining up at your dining table for this healthy fast and flavorful meal. Head over to Simply Healthy Kitchen for this great recipe.

2. Margherita Pizza

The simplicity of this pizza is just what I was looking for and uses absolutely no sauce!  Just sliced tomatoes, fat-free mozzarella cheese, chopped basil and a bit of balsamic!  My favorite combination of ingredients all on one heaping pile of dough.  Which also tasted crazy delicious.

The great thing about the dough is that you can make it ahead of time and use whenever you’d like.  I halved the recipe since I knew I was just making one pizza and stored it in the fridge for about 2 1/2 days til I made it.  It was super easy to make and was fun to shape!I do want to invest, however, in a nice pizza stone because I think my pizza would have come out a million times better, but for now this works.  The great thing about this is you can make any type of pizza you want!  The possibilities are endless!  I just happen to be the pickiest eater known to man so I kept it simple. Head to Eat Yourself Skinny for this great recipe!

3. Lighter Chicken Enchiladas

I came across this version that uses a light, broth-based, smoky chipotle sauce. I was immediately intrigued. The sauce is super simple to make, and that’s pretty much all there is to this: sauce-making and assembly. If you think enchiladas are too complicated to make on a weeknight, I’m about to prove you wrong. Deal with it.

Start with cooked chicken, grilled or poached, and shred. Make the sauce. Easy. Add some sauce to chicken, and fill tortillas with this mixture. Place in baking dish. Top with sauce and cheese. Broil until melty and crispy-edged. DONE. And not only is it easy, but it’s also lightened up. We’re making huge nutritional changes by using our homemade sauce, plus light whole wheat tortillas and 2% cheese, but we’re not compromising on flavor. No sir! 4. Healthy Beef and Broccoli

Get ready for one delicious, simple, easy and healthy meal! This Healthy Beef And Broccoli recipe is one of our favorite meals.  And, when I say favorite meals, I mean we probably have it at least every other week.  Ooh, and it makes a yummy lunch, too.

Not only is this absolutely delicious, but it’s also super fast to prepare and healthy, too. It is also very easy to switch out the soy sauce for a gluten-free soy sauce to make the meal gluten-free. Head to A Sweet Pea Chef for this declicious no-fail recipe!

5. Easy Chicken Fried Rice

Easy Chicken Fried Rice is so simple to make at home, and is way better, healthier and cheaper than take out!  Chicken and rice (either fresh or leftover) join kitchen staples like frozen veggies, sesame oil, egg, and gluten-free Tamari or soy sauce, for a quick dish that’s way easier on the wallet than ordering take out, and tons healthier too!
Use reduced sodium gluten-free Tamari or soy sauce to keep the salt content low, and/or swap the whole egg for just an egg white, if you please!  The egg is probably my favorite part though – it soaks up all that sesame oil flavor and is wonderfully chewy and decadent. Head to Iowa Girl Eats for this great recipe!

6. Chicken Tacos

I’ll keep this short and sweet: this is one of my all time favorite recipes. If there is one crockpot recipe you need in your repertoire, this is it. But truthfully, after making it once you won’t even need the recipe because it’s just so darn easy.
Three ingredients and almost zero work. The result is a juicy, flavorful shredded chicken that makes some killer tacos. I like to load up my tacos, so they look a bit messy in the pictures. They were like that in real life, too. Messy and delicious. I’ve been told before I have a knack for ordering the messiest foods on any menu. Why? Because the messiest foods are the best foods. It’s a fact. Head to My Chocolate Therapy for this delicious recipe!

7. Healthier Oven Fried Chicken

This is an oven-frying-only recipe – you don’t need to do any stovetop frying at all. This is a nice and easy recipe that yields some really yummy finger-lickin’ good chicken that is also good for you!

Start with some good quality chicken pieces with skin and bone-in. We aren’t making chicken strips here. Thoroughly dry your chicken and coat with half the seasoning and paprika. We don’t add the paprika to the flour mixture so that the chicken does not discolor when cooking. Head to Crunchy Mama for this delicious recipe your whole family will love!

8. Healthy Chicken Pad Thai

Healthy Chicken Pad Thai– Recreating healthier versions of your favorite meals is a great way to add variety to your diet. Asian cuisines are among the most savory and exciting so it’s fairly easy to draw inspiration from popular dishes. This chicken pad thai recipe is just what your meal prep needed.

Always remember to adjust portions and serving sizes to complement YOUR diet. Head over to Fit Men Cook for this delicious recipe!

9. Healthier General Tso’s Chicken

Order General Tso’s out and get ready for a hefty helping of saturated fat and calories. We also can not forget to mention the huge amounts of sodium and MSG. While takeout Chinese food is convenient and delicious, it will often leave you feeling bloated and give you heartburn. The calories and fat intake might not be worth it.
Try this healthier, homemade version instead and enjoy the taste and just 183 calories per serving. There is also just 5g of fat per serving, but will have 24g of protein. Go ahead and enjoy your meal without the guilt, or negative health side affects. Head to Beach Body for this delicious recipe.

10. Skinny Fettuccine Alfredo

This easy fettuccine alfredo recipe is made “skinny” with a lighter alfredo sauce recipe — but it’s as delicious and creamy and flavorful as ever! Since I figured there are already plenty of restaurant-style fettuccine alfredo recipes out there — made with that classic but not-so-good for you heavy cream and cream cheese base — I decided to go a little healthier and present a “skinny” fettuccine alfredo recipe.

It is still extra creamy, thick and flavorful.  But you can take a little comfort in the fact that this comfort food is better for you.  And even better, it can be on the table and ready to go in less than 30 minutes. Head to Gimme Some Oven for this amazing recipe!
